If you say you are a Christian, then these words from the Apostles James, Peter and Paul will ring true to your ears:
“But someone may well say, ‘You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.’ . . . ‘For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead’ (James 2:18, 26).”
“Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble (2 Peter 2:10).”
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them (Ephesians 2:10).”
Therefore, we would do well to confirm our calling and election not by talking about our faith but by living and practicing Scripture which lead to the good works that God had prepared in eternity that we should walk in them in our own time and space.
